MG Motor has officially launched the Windsor EV, India’s first intelligent Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV), positioning it as a revolutionary addition to the electric vehicle market. The Windsor EV combines luxury, performance, and cutting-edge technology to redefine modern travel.

The MG Windsor EV is designed to offer a premium yet practical electric vehicle experience. With its spacious interiors, impressive driving range, and cutting-edge technology, the Windsor EV is poised to set new benchmarks in the Indian EV market. MG’s BaaS model allows customers to lease the battery instead of purchasing it outright, which lowers the initial cost of ownership. This unique leasing program offers flexibility, as customers can choose from various battery rental packages based on their usage and credit score.

Bold and Distinctive Design
The exterior of the MG Windsor EV combines elements of MPV and SUV design, creating a bold and distinctive aesthetic. The front features a split lighting setup with LED headlights and connected LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), enhanced by a touch of chrome. The side profile is sleek and aerodynamic, with flush door handles and 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear boasts connected LED tail lamps and a roof spoiler, adding a sporty and futuristic touch.
The Windsor EV is available in four color options: Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green. While the design may polarize opinions, the vehicle’s unique styling ensures it stands out on the road.
Spacious and Feature-Packed Interior
Inside, the Windsor EV offers a comfortable and spacious cabin, dominated by a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The wide, well-padded seats provide excellent comfort, with the front seats offering electrical adjustments and ventilation, and the rear seats reclining up to 135 degrees for enhanced passenger comfort.
The vehicle is equipped with a fixed panoramic glass roof, premium sound system, wireless smartphone charging, and ample storage space, making it ideal for long journeys. The airy cabin, paired with thoughtful features, ensures a relaxed and enjoyable ride for all passengers.
Impressive Performance and Range
Powered by a 134 bhp electric motor producing 200 Nm of torque, the Windsor EV delivers a smooth and responsive driving experience. It offers four driving modes—Eco, Eco+, Normal, and Sport—to cater to different driving preferences. The regenerative braking system helps extend the vehicle’s range, reducing the need for frequent charging.
The Windsor EV is equipped with a 38kWh battery, offering a claimed range of 332 kilometers on a full charge. Fast charging capability allows the battery to be charged from 0% to 80% in just 55 minutes, making it a convenient option for long-distance travel.
Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS): A Game-Changer
The BaaS model is a key highlight of the Windsor EV, allowing customers to lease the battery separately from the vehicle. This significantly reduces the initial purchase cost and provides flexibility in financing. The BaaS program offers long-term savings by eliminating the cost of battery replacement and maintenance. Customers can later choose to purchase the battery if desired or exit the leasing agreement by settling the remaining balance.
MG has also equipped the Windsor EV with telematics to track battery usage and ensure transparency in billing. The vehicle comes with a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner, as well as insurance coverage for accidental damage.
